Noah Powers was hired as the Safety-Service Director in November of 2021. The Safety-Service Director serves as the Chief Administrative Official for the City. Noah oversees the following City departments: Building & Zoning, Community Development, Fire, Human Resources, Police, Public Works, Recreation, and Water Billing.
In addition to this oversight Noah also engages in collective bargaining with the City’s four bargaining units, works on long-term municipal planning projects, serves as the Chair of the Norwood Planning Commission, advises the Mayor and other elected officials on significant municipal projects & priorities, regularly interacts with citizens and community groups to improve the community and municipal operations, and many other tasks for the betterment of Norwood.
Noah is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati (B.A. – Political Science) and Cleveland State University (Master of Public Administration & Juris Doctorate). His municipal government experience includes work as a Director of Human Resources, Assistant Law Director, and Municipal Prosecutor. In 2020 Noah was named Public Administrator of the Year – Early Careerist by the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration.
